Pai Gow Poker is a current game with old origins. Founded on the old Chinese domino game and the modern American adaptation of poker, Pai Gow poker marries the eastern with the west in an excellent game for starting gamblers.
Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the gambler versus the croupier, unlike nearly all other poker games that gamblers compete against other players. By betting against the dealer, starting players don’t have to fret about any other, more experienced people taking their cash.
Another Pai Gow benefit is the relatively leisurely game pace, beginners will be able to take their time and strategize while not needing to make hasty decisions.
It is also easier to gamble on for a long time with only a small amount of cash seeing as, to not win, each of your hands has to be under both of the casino’s hands.
Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the familiar 52-card basic deck and a single joker. The gambler is dealt 7 cards face up and the dealer receives seven cards face down.
One 5 card hand and one 2 card hand need to be put together from the seven cards, the 5 card hand must be stronger than the two card hand. To win, a player is required to have both of his hand totals to be better than the casino’s.
