Online poker has become world famous lately, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game shows. Its popularity, though, stretches back in reality a bit farther than its TV scores. Over the years several types on the earliest poker game have been created, including some games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely affiliated with blackjack than old guard poker, in that the players bet against the dealer rather than the other players. The winning hands, are the established poker hands. There is no bluffing or other types of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up just before the croupier declares "No further bets." At that instance, both you and the dealer and of course every one of the other gamblers acquire 5 cards each. Once you have seen your hand and the casino’s first card, you have to either make a call wager or bow out. The call wager’s value is on same level to your original bet, which means that the risks will have increased two fold. Bowing out means that your ante goes directly to the bank. After the wager comes the conclusion. If the house doesn’t have ace/king or better, your wager is given back, with an amount in accordance with the ante. If the dealer does have ace/king or greater, you win if your hand defeats the dealer’s hand. The dealer pony’s up chips even with your ante and set expectations on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for two pairs
  • 3-1 for 3 of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • 20-1 for a four of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
