Pai Gow Poker is a current game with ancient origins. Built on the old Chinese tile game and the modern American variation of poker, Pai Gow poker marries the far east with the western in an excellent game for new players.
Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the gambler against the dealer, not like nearly all other poker games that gamblers wager with other gamblers. By competing against the dealer, starting players don’t need to be concerned about any other, more advanced people winning their money.
A further Pai Gow benefit is the fairly slow game play, beginners can take their time and strategize without needing to make hasty decisions.
It’s also much simpler to bet on for a long time with just a little bit of cash since, to not win, each of your hands needs to be lower than each of the houses hands.
Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the regular 52-card common deck and a single joker. The player is assigned seven cards faces showing and the house gets seven cards faces hidden.
One 5 card hand and a 2 card hand need to be made from the seven cards, the five card hand has to be higher than the 2 card hand. To win, a player is required to have both of his hand totals to be larger than the houses.
