Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the normal 52-card standard deck and one joker. The gambler is given seven cards face up and the croupier gets 7 cards faces hidden.
A five card hand and one 2 card hand must be put together from the seven cards dealt, the 5 card hand has to be better than the 2 card hand. To succeed, a player is required to have both of his hand values to be better than the houses.
